UNGER’s Earth Day Cleanup: Every little bit makes a difference

Last week, our team stepped away from our desks and grabbed our UNGER Nabbers and Baggers and headed outside to do something that felt long overdue: give a little love to the park that’s been a cornerstone of Bridgeport for over a century.

Beardsley Park, Bridgeport, CT

Beardsley Park is no ordinary green space. Designed in 1884, its rolling hills, stone bridges, and scenic pond have offered Bridgeport residents a place to breathe, play, and connect for generations. In honor of Earth Day (April 22nd), it felt like the perfect moment to show up for a place that has given so much to our community.

And this community means a lot to us. UNGER’s Global headquarters is right here in Bridgeport, Connecticut, one of two home bases for our company worldwide. This city isn’t just where we work; it’s where we’re rooted.

Armed with our litter picking tools, tools built for exactly this kind of work, our team fanned out across the walking path to pick up litter and leave the grounds a little better than we found them. It was a simple act, but one that felt meaningful. This is where our offices are, where our team members live and work, and where we want to see things thrive.

UNGER Clean Up earth day

More than just a cleanup, the outing was a reminder of why community matters. Spending time outside together, working toward something tangible, brought our department closer and gave us all a renewed sense of pride in the city we call home.

As we celebrate Earth Day, we encourage others to find a local space that means something to them, show up and leave it cleaner than when you arrived. It doesn’t take much; just a little time, a little effort, and maybe a good pair of Nabbers.

Happy Earth Day from the Unger Team in Bridgeport. 🌍

UNGER Team Clean up Day

A special shoutout to our youngest helper of the day! This young helper is a co-worker’s daughter who gave up her school vacation day to come out and help clean our community. That kind of spirit is exactly what Earth Day is all about. 🌟
